IGI Medal of Honour
To mark its tenth Year, the IGI will award its inaugural Medal of Honour a geoscientist who has contributed significantly to the promotion of the principles outlined in the Institute's Mission Statement;
“To promote and advance the science of geology and its professional application in all disciplines, especially the geosciences, and to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas in relation thereto.
To require its members to uphold, develop and maintain the highest professional standards in the practice of their profession, as described in the Code of Ethics and Conduct.”
The award is intended for an individual who has excelled in the advancement/promotion of the profession of geology/geosciences. The award of the Medal of Honour is open to members and non-members of the IGI.
The Nominations Committee looks forward to receiving your nominations for this prestigious award. Your Nomination must be received at the IGI office on or before January 16th, 2009.
