EPA Climate Change Lecture Series- Lecture 9

Lecture 9, For Peat's Sake: Bogs and Climate Change will take place:

Tuesday 27th October, 2009
at 6.30pm
in The Round Room, The Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2.

Following on the success of the climate change lecture series 2007-2008 the Environmental Protection Agency has arranged a further series as part of the Road to Copenhagen 2009. The EPA plans to host further lectures in 2010. The occasional lectures are aimed at providing updates from the science of climate change as well as the policy and political response to this global challenge. As in the earlier lectures, speakers include top international experts in science, economics and technology. The lecture series is chaired by Dr John Bowman.
 

This lecture will be given by Professor Hans Joosten, Head of the Mire and Palaeo Ecology Institute in University of Griefswald, Germany. Professor Joosten is a member of the Belarusian delegation to the UNFCCC where he has advised on inclusion of peatlands in future actions to address climate change.
