3rd Annual Irish Earth Observation Symposium
3rd Annual Irish Earth Observation Symposium: 12th - 13th November 2009, Geological Survey of Ireland, Dublin.
Earth Observation in Ireland, Acquisition, Analysis and Application.
The programme is here – free attendance, REGISTER before 12 noon, 11th November by returning the registration form here.
The acquisition and analysis of Earth Observation data through satellite, airborne, shipborne and ground-based methods is a major activity in the academic, commercial and public sectors in Ireland. The potential offered by these technologies to deliver solutions to contemporary problems is leading to the development of innovative application and stimulating Ireland’s knowledge economy. This Symposium provides an opportunity for those working in the Irish Earth Observation sector to meet and discuss their work.
The programe contains a comprehensive list of oral presentations but we are still open for accepting posters for the poster session (the best of which will receive a substantial cash prize sponsored by GSI). As you can see from the programme we have already received interesting submissions from a wide range of disciplines across the earth observation spectrum.
The Symposium will commence on the afternoon of Thursday 12th November, with the first series of talks followed by the poster competition, a reception and a conference dinner (circa €35 a head). The Symposium will continue through the morning of Friday 12th November, after which GSI will host a workshop to demonstrate the newly acquired GeoVisonary suite of products. Numbers will be limited for the GeoVisionary workshop so please ensure you register early.
Further details of the Symposium can be found on http://www.gsi.ie/News/Earth+Observation+Symposium.htm.
This Symposium is organised and hosted by the Geological Survey of Ireland.
